Here is the story on how we went from flooring to counter top.
- Measure, layout and enlarge the irregular octagon
- Mark and cut plywood for counter base and riser
- Biscuit joint and glue plywood
- Trim all birch pieces
- Lay, glue, nail birch to plywood base
- Cut, plane, sand counter top
- Glue together
- Pre-drill and bolt, connecting 4 cabinets and casters
- Sand, prep surface for finish
- Install edging
- Install island top to cabinet
- Apply finish and sand between coats
